Advisory committees

Admission Committee, responsible for: verifying current legislation on the reservation of places (quotas) for graduate students at FURG; preparing drafts of the selection notices for regular and special students; evaluating candidates with the objective criteria provided for in the notice; coordinating the evaluation of subjective criteria with the coordinators of the research line; conducting the selection of students from international programs, such as the Organization of American States (OAS), the Coimbra Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB) and the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM); presenting the progress of the selection processes to the faculty; publishing the results of the selections; monitoring the call for selected students and their allocation to the research lines and advisors.

Scholarship Committee, responsible for: verifying current legislation on the reservation of places (quotas) for CAPES Social Demand (DS) scholarship holders; if necessary, adapting internal rules for granting and maintaining DS scholarships, to be submitted for review by the faculty; preparing a draft of the DS scholarship selection notice; evaluating students according to the rules of the notice; publishing the selection results; monitoring CAPES DS scholarship holders every six months to verify compliance with the defined criteria; presenting the status of DS scholarship holders to the faculty; conducting a six-monthly survey of scholarship holders from other public or private funding agencies and institutions, including projects with companies.

Self-assessment committee, responsible for: analyzing the curricula of the faculty; collecting the data necessary to calculate, by the end of October, the indicators of the annual action plan presented in the table available here; presenting the calculated values ​​and the difference with the values ​​expected for the faculty; organizing the annual self-assessment seminar in November, which should include the diagnosis carried out and the presentations of the research and publication plans for each line of research; producing the self-assessment report.

Sucupira Annual Report Completion Committee,  responsible for: keeping PPGComp information updated on the Sucupira Platform, including the registration of the intellectual production (bibliographic and technical) of faculty co-authors, students, alumni and external participants, research projects, technological development and innovation, funders, cooperation projects between institutions, and highlights; associating productions with projects and lines of research; requesting the faculty for the data necessary for registration; ensuring that the annual information collection by CAPES is completed correctly within the deadlines established by it; preparing the annual report including the results of the self-assessment report produced by the committee of the same name and the strategic planning, and presenting it to the faculty for review; submitting the report to the Platform.

Scientific committee responsible for: preparing the annual strategic plan, aligned with PROPESP's strategic plan and FURG's Institutional Development Plan, including goals, actions, indicators and expected values; monitoring changes in the Brazilian postgraduate evaluation system, to quickly adapt PPGComp to the new requirements; studying the CA-CC evaluation forms and presenting them to the faculty; monitoring the number of PPGs that each permanent faculty member participates in; re-discussing the lines of research according to the profile of the current permanent faculty; preparing a doctoral course proposal for consideration by the faculty; submitting the proposal and monitoring it on the Sucupira Platform; presenting the progress of the submission and the result to the faculty.
